Jon Nicholl
I work in silver and enamel, using wood, glass, and ceramics, to create functional silver tableware that is modern in look but traditional in form.
Post-retirement I am working as a silversmith mainly making functional silver tableware. To date I have made beakers and goblets, napkin rings, coasters, jiggers, salts, pepper pots, cruet sets, boxes, and bowls. I have also made a cocktail shaker, some table decorations and christmas tree decorations, a clock, and a few coin bracelets.
I work in silver using wood, glass, and re-cycled ceramics to create my designs. I use enamel and gold plating to create and highlight details.
As well as designing all the pieces myself, all the craft – for example piercing, forming, soldering, cleaning and polishing, enamelling and plating – is done by myself in my workshop in Sheffield.
I’m happy to undertake commissions – please ask!
